The COVID Consultants are made up of members of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA). Our mission aligns with the IDSA’s in that we also aim to improve the health of individuals, communities, and society by promoting excellence in patient care, education, research, public health and prevention in relation to infectious diseases, especially pertaining to COVID-19. In a time where there is an abundance of misinformation, The COVID Consultants strive to be the clarion callers during this viral pandemic.

After consulting on over 800 patients with COVID-19 at medical centers across the country, we realize our skill set is required beyond the boundaries of the hospital. We’re here to assist your business in these uncertain times.

Dana T. Lerman, MD
Dr. Lerman is originally from New York City, New York. She graduated medical school in 2006 from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She also completed her inter year and residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Lerman went on to graduate from an Infectious Disease Fellowship from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is board certified in internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.

Tracy Zivin-Tutela, MD
Tracy Zivin-Tutela, M.D. is a Board Certified Infectious Diseases Specialist. Dr. Zivin-Tutela is the Owner and Director of Infectious Diseases Specialist of New Jersey. After graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she went to Saba University School of Medicine, earning her Doctorate of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at UMDNJ- Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. She continued her training in New York City where she did her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Columbia University- St. Luke’s -Roosevelt Hospital Center.
After completion of her training, Dr Zivin-Tutela practiced Infectious Diseases in Manhattan for 10 years. During this time she was the Medical Director of Westside Infectious Diseases as well as Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center. She currently practices in New Jersey
caring for patients in general Infectious Diseases as well as Hyperbaric and Wound Care medicine. She has been featured in numerous media venues including NBC Nightly News, Dr Oz Show, Good Morning America as well as Parenting magazine and the NY Daily News to name a few. She was named Super Doctors- Rising Star in NY along with NJ Monthly Top Doctors 2019.

John H. Hammer, MD, FACS
Dr. John Hammer is a leader, advisor and educator in the field of infectious diseases. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas and earned membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. John completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Colorado. Drawn by the diverse and ever changing world of infectious diseases he went on to complete a certification in Tropical Medicine through the Gorgas Institute in Lima, Peru.
Keen on putting his expertise to use and to fulfill a core tenet of giving back to the community John spent several years volunteering with a non-governmental organization that provided training and mentoring programs to increase knowledge and improve infrastructure around the treatment of HIV in developing nations. He credits his experience in Vietnam and South Africa as life changing in that it allowed him to both lead and follow, and to problem solve in real time to affect the model of care.
John’s ability to lead and mobilize teams is evident in his work on quality and systems improvement. He has led numerous multidisciplinary initiatives, such as an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, that earned Rose Medical Center a designation of one of 25 Antimicrobial Centers of Excellence in the US. He continued this work, taking it to the state level and assisted 30 hospitals improve appropriate utilization of antibiotics. He led the hospital preparedness response to Ebola for a six-hospital division and helped create a Microbiology Center of Excellence by sharing resources and expertise between hospitals. Currently, he is the principal investigator for a pharmaceutical trial to improve the survival rates of patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 infection.
John is known for bringing his humor and practical compassion to the bedside, to his colleagues and to the teams on which he serves. His ability to form strong relationships has resulted in numerous successful team outcomes such as decreased sepsis related mortality and treatment pathways for cost effective delivery of care. He has a passion for deploying new and emerging technologies to streamline healthcare delivery and is a champion for telehealth in the area of infectious disease on a global scale.
Currently, he serves as the Chairperson for the department of Medicine at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and Medical Director for the division of Infectious Diseases for CarePoint PC. He also provides travel health care services assisting people who travel abroad with consultations on different infectious diseases prevalent around the world. He is the current president of the Colorado Chapter of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Erin Jenkins
Erin Jenkins earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2006. She then went on to earn her Masters of Public Health from University of Colorado in 2015. Erin is Manager of Infection Prevention at a Denver area hospital caring for COVID-19 patients. She is an expert in advising healthcare workers and patients on how to prevent infections in accordance with local and state health departments and the CDC.

Peter Leone, MD
Peter A Leone, MD, is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health in Chapel Hill, NC. He also serves as Medical Director of the North Carolina HIV/STD Prevention and Control Branch. Dr Leone earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in Rootstown, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Akron City Hospital in Ohio, and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina. His primary work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various sexually transmitted diseases. Dr Leone has authored or coauthored several peer-reviewed articles that have been published in journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and AIDS Education and Prevention.

DALILAH RESTREPO, MD
I am a provider at AHF Healthcare Center – Manhattan & Queens. I am a trusted and reputable infectious disease specialist serving the communities of New York and Jamaica, NY. I am a part of Westside Infectious Diseases and I’m affiliated with Saint Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. I am a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine and the International Society of Travel Medicine. My clinical interests include ear infections, infection consultations, urinary tract infections, flu shots, and wound care. I have treated and managed a diverse range of medical dysfunctions and am committed to providing the best comprehensive medical care available. In addition to serving my patients, I am the clinical supervisor of fellows, residents and students at Saint Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Columbia University. I treat a range of conditions, and I am eager to help the wider community receive the care they deserve.
Fun Fact: I enjoy giving back to my community and have participated in many volunteer activities, like serving as the medical consultant and speaker for Queens Child Guidance Center’s POSITIVE LIFE program.

Andrea R. Stone, MBA
Andrea is a banker-turned-entrepreneur. With a passion for innovation and global business, she has lived and worked in 7 countries across Asia, Europe and North America. Andrea double majored in Economics and Education and earned an International MBA from the University of British Columbia. She completed her MBA internship with the Business Advisory division of Ernst & Young, then worked in Capital Markets for BMO (Bank of Montreal) before following her dream of becoming an entrepreneur. In London, Andrea was selected for a Google program to launch Gifty, the first AI-powered gifting platform in the UK and won 2nd place in one of Europe’s largest start-up competitions featuring Steve Wozniak (Co-Founder of Apple) for £50,000 in cash. Andrea recently moved to Colorado with her family and is dedicated to helping businesses responsibly re-open, and stay open, in the COVID-era.
